First Barcamp In The North of Ghana

On November 26th, 2011; a group of bloggers and social activist from Accra organized the first Barcamp in Tamale at the Tamale Polythenic ICT Auditorium. The event was to sensitize participants on exploring ways of using ICT in Business and other ventures.

In total, there were about 150 attendants who were mostly from Accra, Kumasi and other parts of the 3 Northern Regions. Below is a photo of the participants.

Mac-Jordan, a Blogger from Accra presented on the benefits of Social Media and Mobile Technology in Africa at the event. He highlighted on emerging trends in Africa.

The participants were very thankful to the organizers and hoped for more future barcamps in the three Norther Regions.

Hi, my name is prince, from tamale. a social activist on child rights from Maltiti Child Foundation. i am a participant of the Barcamp tamale and thank God i did, cos I've just created a twitter account, thanks to Barcamp. what is more, i am yet to join others to share my vision on issues dear to my heart.
